Marine Technology Information
This course is intended to prepare the student for an entry level position in the marine field. The student will learn the basic knowledge and skills necessary for the minor repair of the two- cycle and four-cycle engines. The course will cover estimating, terminology, tools, tune-up, maintenance and troubleshooting. Actual work experience will be accomplished by working on training engines and customer engines.
The increase in boating and personal watercraft usage has created a demand for the educated entry-level marine technician. Let GTC start you on your way.
Interests & Skills:
A student should be interested in seeking employment in the Marine Tech field and have:
* Average reading and math skills
* Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
* Ability to concentrate on details
* Be physically able to bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions
